The programme in International Relations is dynamic and fascinating. The field of
International Relations is interdisciplinary, covering politics, economics sciences and
sociology.
This program will allow students to better understand international politics and its influence
on business and leaders. The aim of this programme is to provide students with the skills to
face efficiently the current and future challenges linked to globalisation. Students will
examine the structure, role and environment of international organisations, the foreign policy
of the main actors, emerging states, third world, diplomacy, international economic policy,
international law and more. They will discover models and recurrent themes which help to
describe, explain and plan changes that influence the economy and the world geopolitical
situation.
Geneva hosts the headquarters of many International Organisations such as the United
Nations, The World Trade Organisation, the World Intellectual Property Organisation, the
International Labor Organisation, the International Telecommunication Union, the World
Health Organisation, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, the European Free
Trade Association, the International Air Transport Association, the International Committee of
the Red Cross… It is also host to more than 200 Non-Governmental Organisations such as
the European Broadcasting Union or the World Economic Forum.
The programme offers an excellent mix of theory and practice. IFM professors have
extensive academic background and different professional experiences as directors,
managers or consultants. They will bring you a practical and updated approach to
international relations. Speakers will also share their experiences with you during company
conferences and visits to companies will be organised.
The programme opens the door to exciting careers in the field of international relations within international organisations, governmental or not, and within multinational companies.
Some students use their bachelor as a step towards further post grad study. The University
encourages students to develop their potential and their entrepreneurial spirit in order to
become active and professional members of a multicultural society. |
